About Me:
I am a mother of 3 boys and a I have three grandchildren, two boys and a granddaughter that was born this summer. My 2 chihuahua's, (also fittingly, the name of the baseball team in my hometown of El Paso) have kept me busy this summer. I love to read non-fiction science books but my favorite fiction books are still Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings & Game of Thrones. I love chile peppers and ristras, the desert southwest, the beach, teeny tiny things, and all things science. I'd love to meet astrophysicist, Neil Degrasse Tyson and theoretical physicist Michio Kaku. These days I thoroughly enjoy hanging out with my family, babysitting the grand babies, traveling ( locally now) and watching my youngest son, who is a senior this year, golf. Unfortunately, there is still no football this fall...yet, so he's focusing on golf and getting into a good college. This year I am teaching 8th grade science at Rogers Middle School. I have 21 Years of experience in education- teaching Middle School Science, (occasionally Humanities, ELAR & History.) I am also in my second year of graduate school at OLLU, getting my masters degree in Curriculum and Development with a focus on Integrated Science. I recently became a certified high school science teacher as well. I am excited about this school year, focusing on our students & making sure their eighth grade year at RMS is one that they love, get the help and education they deserve and graduate as 21st century learners with a bag of tools that will help them in high school and beyond.
