Instructions for Essay Writing and Test review-

Hello students,

We have read four short articles in our class sessions: "Mattel defined gender norms with Barbie and Ken: now it defies them; "What is intersectionality?'; "L.A. is seizing tiny homes from the homeless'; "Latin Grammy winner Rosalia's flamenco fame questioned by Spain's Roma community." Please review all of these four readings and make sure you answered the four quiz questions at the end of each article. On our next BDay, Tuesday 20, we will have a reading comprehension test. 

In addition, review the following vocabulary words:

1. encampment

2. constituents

3. unprecedented

4. seizing

5. gaily

Today, Friday 16, you will write a one page essay: minimum 500 words, double space, Times New Roman, font size 12.

Read the prompt carefully and take into consideration the following tips:

Tip #1: Plan your essay with meaningful pre-writing.

Tip #2: Be willing to erase ideas, sentences, phrases, and/or words.

Tip #3: Back up ideas with concrete, diverse examples.

Tip #4: Add depth to fewer points.

Your prompt:

Tiny homes have been promoted as the solution to all kinds of housing needs — an affordable option in expensive big cities. Do you think tiny homes are a reasonable solution to solve homelessness? You must make reference to the article read in class ("L.A. is seizing tiny homes from the homeless" by Gale Holland) and present some of the arguments in favor and against the issue for tiny homes for the homeless.
