THE UNION DIFFERENCE.png

Unions and union membership have a huge impact on the lives of American workers, and the health of the American economy as a whole. Unionized workers are better paid, have better benefits - like healthcare, retirement plans, and paid leave - and enjoy better protections at work (like having rights when bosses want to discipline or fire them).

But labor unions also impact the lives of all Americans by working for a fairer, more equal economy for all. Membership in labor unions helps to reduce inequality and improve American democracy by countering the power of the richest members of American society. By coming together to form and participate in labor unions, workers make their workplaces more democratic, protect each other from exploitative bosses, and increase their ability to shape their workplaces and make decisions about their working lives.

When more Americans are members of labor unions, American society is fairer, more equal, and more democratic for everyone. In fact, for most workers, it's just as important to join and participate in a labor union as it is to go to college or complete post-high school training. If you get a college degree, you help yourself to earn more and have a better life. By joining a union, you secure better wages, benefits, and help make the United States a better place for all American workers.
